Mavi Graves: Music

Do unto me

(Mavi Graves)
On city streets alone at night, are they not really
you walking by my side? Stranger dawn peeks through
my blinds. Is it not really you talking about the light?
The darkness is dear, it fortells of my doom and I know
that it's you stalking around my room.

I hope you'll do unto me as I would do unto you.
Time is falling through a sieve. The universe doesn't
owe you. It doesn't owe you shit.

When murder is plotted in secrecy, is it not really stolen kisses
in reverie? Deep in the earth, you'll bury me, and each layer of dirt
blesses my memory. And if it is hell, then the devil I'll be. Better off than
the one who misses torments heat.

I hope you'll do unto me as I would do unto you.
Time is sinking like a ship. And the universe doesn't
owe you. It doesn't owe you shit.

An hour in the snow. We cram in a life, build it fast, tall
and give it cinders for eyes. No snowflakes are the same, no
fire lasts the night. I'm so cold that I still get shivers down my
spine. An infinity of lives I'll be, so I promise there'll be endless
winters for you and me.

Do unto me as I would do unto you.
Snowflakes hit hot pavement and they turn into mist.
The universe doesn't owe you. The universe doesn't
owe you shit.
