Mavi Graves: Music

Manshaped hole

(Mavi Graves)
Maps of distances are so distorted.
The miles I fly while lying in bed.
Rivers and mountains should be forshortened.
Cause I could swear you lived here in my head.

Our bodies are countries. Borders but skin.
Brains patrol the boundries. Hearts let you in.
Sound the alarms! (too late, too late)
Release the Alsacians! (too late, too late)
My heart helped you find a way in.
You were a manshaped hole in my skin.

The hunger roar outside the door.
Fills my mind up with dread.
What is it in your animal heart,
that would have my love or have me dead?
Intruder alert!(don't trust anyone)
(I cried all night till my eyes bled)
Intruder alert! (it could be anyone)
Early morning I awoke with a start.
There was a manshaped hole in my bed.

And when I died, it took everyone by surprise.
Precautions were taken, walls were fortified.
But the cause of death was printed neatly
on the chart.
It was a manshaped hole in her heart.
